Some military veterans who fought for the United States are now fighting to keep living in the United States.

They’re among the thousands of veterans who are not American citizens. They’re legal immigrants, and while serving, they’re treated just like any other service member.

But after they’re discharged, immigrant vets who break the law can be deported.
