The L.A. County Board of Supervisors is considering asking all vendors bidding on major county construction contracts to hire more military veterans.

Mayor Eric Garcetti's office said Los Angeles will miss its goal of ending veteran homelessness by the end of the year. He blamed the recent rise in the city's homeless population — veteran and non-veteran alike.
