When Soldiers Die At Home

Patricia Murphy talks about her report on end-of-life care for our nation's service members and veterans.

Combat veterans often struggle at the end of life with feelings of guilt, abandonment and regret. For some dying service members and their families, a military hospital is a place where they can make those last days meaningful.

As she prepared a report for NPR's "Morning Edition" about military end-of-life care, KUOW's Patricia Murphy talked about the subject with host Frank Stasio on WUNC's midday talk show, "The State of Things."
